Was just thinking, due to the fact that it is so hard to find comprehensive specs on previous year boat models, that archiving this information might be a great feature for this site - I was looking for specs on an 896, and since they're not making it anymore (although rumor is it will return) I had a hard time finding this information...

David,

I think this is a great idea. a whole library could be created. It would certainly be a benefit for those trying to find info on used boats. I have some catalogs from last yr for nitro, ranger, triton, skeeter, and gambler. These could be converted to "pdf" files and archived where someone could download them for viewing. I guess this would be ok from the mfg's?

Yeah..... BUT..... All that takes time..... And it takes space..... And buxs.....

How much is Rich charging for membership these days? As an old-timer, I'm grandfathered in and don't pay any dues.

i don't think the idea was meant for rich to do all this work himself or have any additional expense - at least that wasn't my intent. tracker may even have some files that could be scanned and put into a format which wouldn't take much space. don't know. just an idea.

heck, i was just hopin for a few of the basics, length, beam, LOA & its various versions, HP restrictions, standard features, etc. Love to have more, but... anything is better than what is available now...

I think I owe you guys an apology..... My posy above came off as somewhat smart-a$$..... Didn't mean it that way..... It just came out wrong.

Boy! Don't I wish that there were someplace to access all that info! Even if Tracker kept stuff available on-line from since they started their website..... And other companies, too..... It will likey come about eventually - this internet thing is still very new..... In the meantime, the people on this site are a wealth of information! When I bought my boat, I asked if anyone had a catalog from 1994..... I forget who it was, but someone here sent one to me, I copied the pages with my boat and sent it back to them!

The members here are our best archives!

Wasn't there someone on the site that worked for Tracker and was putting together something like this. If I remember correctly, one of the things he was working on was color-coded wiring diagrams for the Tracker/Nitro boats.
