I've got this big tupperware container full of nuts, bolts and screws.....

Is there any easy way to tell the difference between stainless and galvanized?

me?

look on the end (head) of the bolt, the markings will be diffrent, should say something like t304,or something to that effect.no little hashmarks for grade.the galvanized will liik diffrent, not as shinny, and have like a snowflake effect on the head of the bolt.the nuts if stainless will have marks along the rim of the nuts.galvanized has that funny look to it,not shiny.

Use a magnet. It will lift out everything that's not stainless. There is a magnetic stainless but it's never used for nuts and bolts.
