On my new(to me) sport jet one of the tackle hatches the spot welds had come loose. The dealer riveted it back on an now it closes real hard.

The carpet is worn were it is rubbing. IS there anything I can put on the carpet to retard the wear.

Also, any recommendations on fixing this. I figure I could buy a new hinge then drill the holes on the lid a little more to the left side to move it over 1/4 inch. Problem is peeling the carpet back to get the rivet gun in there ?

Stumped on that one Bob, hopefully someone can help ya with it....... I do remember when my boat was new, it was "almost" impossible to get lids open, everything fit so tight........ eventually after repeated opening/closing, things have loosened up now, but I don't have the wear on the carpet you describe...... good luck with it...... egmike

Have you talked to the dealer, Bob?

It seems to me that, if his shop did the repair job, he should be more than happy to set it right.
