Just a note to follow up with an old thread on the board about Safety Straps on the bow to the trailer. I commented that my 2000 929 did not have one but boats of lesser size did (and I know all of you tin runners have one). Consensus was that the ratchet tie downs on the rear made up for it. I looked at a 929 when I was doing my last seminar at BPS in Baltimore and whadda know, the new 929 sitting in the showroom had a safety strap. Somebody must be listening. I'd retrofit something on mine but it looks like it's going up for sale real soon.

I remember that thread tox. I think there should be one up front in case the winch strap breaks or the winch fails (broken teeth or bouncing out of gear). I still haven't done mine yet (guilty) but intend to. I would think that tracker would be putting something like this on ALL of their newer boats. What are you doing selling your boat. I thought you just got it all shined up a while back before all this white stuff was on the ground.

Psst! It has been rumored that Tox is getting rid of his to buy a Pro Crappy boat (but that's just a nasty rumor that Rob started. Hee Hee!!!!!!

HAHAHA

Ya know it's like the nightmare I keep having...Revenge of the Miller cans. I go to all of these dealers and the only boats they have are recycled miller cans sewed together with yarn like those old hats you used to be able to buy. LOLOLOL Actually I do plan on having a tin rig in the near future (jet boat), you see we also guide on the Susquehanna, James, Chick and other rivers in the area. None of which would I ever put a glass boat on. The truth is that I am joining the NITRO State Team (my partner is on the National team) in the near future. My plan was to run my rig this season and buy new through the program next model year. My partner says as soon as I get the word on the State Team I gotta get rid of the lucky boat (I call it lucky because it has put clients on many, many citation fish, it's never been skunked) and order a new rig. So, if anybody's a lookin' I'm goona move her fast and cheap.

btw...I still have my pvc boat under the deck!!

Carlos

PS I have a bow strap on mine. Cheap 7.99 insurance

Carlos,

Your wife seemed pretty positive about you NOT getting my boat LOL!! How you gonna win her over? She looked awful pretty at Chantilly.......pretty likely to smack you upside the head.....and pretty likely to make it hurt. I for sure will let you know (then I'll take out the life insurance policy on you). Ha..Ha..

See, there you go - right from a "glass" owners own keyboard. Afraid to run his fragile "glass" boat where only "tin" is in! LOL.

Seriously though, Tox - You really considering getting a jet boat? Are we talking production line boat or custom made? If you are considering a custom made setup there is a guy in our area that makes some really nice ones. The PA. Fish Commission even has been using a couple of his boats for about ten years now and they are holding up great. If you are considering going that route just log on to Riversmallies.com and do a search on jet boats. The guys' name is Snyder and he is from Millersburg. I know there are a lot of happy customers driving his boats.

BTW, just kidding about the crappy boat! To each his own,

Tight lines.

Tin boats on shallow water are cool with the jet drives, when I was up in alaska it was really cool to see them guys drive over 6 inches of water where I just walked across, they deffinitly had more hair on the A?!@ than I would.
