Got a 2002 Targa 17 and the remote drain on the front livewell won't open up. With the trip before last, the remote drain would open, but drain real slowly. Tried using a hose to flush it out and last weekend the remote drain wouldn't even open. Just got done pumping it out by hand, which was no fun!! Was hesitant to start working on it myself, till I got some advise. I know why the 2003s don't have remote drain switches, now!

Thanks!

Glenn

Sounds like either your drain line is clogged or your drain valve in not opening properly...can you get to the valve easily? Have someone operate the switch while you watch the valve to see if it is opening/closing...If its similar design to mine, it could be hung up...

Your remote drain ought to be easy to get to. You can operate the drain by pushing the lever the cable is attached to. S/b easy to replace also.
