I am looking into purchasing a new baitcaster. I have it narrowed down to 2 the Shimano Curado 200D or the Abu Garcia Revo. What is everyones thoughts on these 2 reels and which would you purchase. Thanks for your imput.

I don't know about Abu Garcia Revo but the Curado will cast a country mile with minimal lure weight. Did you look at the Quantum Energy reels? Most of my rods are set up with them and I used them on the trail last year without a single problem, not to mention the 7.1.1 reel speed burns!!!!!

I think Shimano is still offering that $50 rebate on Curados, too. I bought one a couple of weeks ago. This is my second 200DHSV and Dragon is right...casts a mile with the flick of your wrist.

I thing revo has a free jacket if u buy a revo right know. I have 4 revo's and they are exelent to me.

I have a one Revo now and love it. I knew that Shimano is offering the $50 rebate but also found out Quantum is as well. I could purchase the Shimano Curado or the Quantum Energy cheaper than the Revo.



A guy on Ebay has 25 Quantum Energy's new in box for $139.95 plus $12.95 S&H, then you also get the $50 rebate. Total cost $102.90 for a Quantum Energy. Going by Dragons post I would have to say that is a good reel for that price.



The Shimano would run me about $150 after rebate and around the same for another Revo with no rebate.

Hey,Tom.Quantum has a new one out this year called a "CODE" I just looked at them the other day at BPS.Its an 8 bearing reel that comes in 6.3 or 7to1. One piece alum frame.And only $80.I was pretty impressed with it.

I have one revo and I am going to buy my second one, I don't like the new curduo 9 oz BOAT anchor .. Curduo at a 200 dollar mark should not weight that much.. Saw the sale at BPS but that 50 bucks is not going to sway me to a curduo..
