Well I put the first dings in my prop on my new 901

I was on the Big "O" and was running an area that normally runs about 3.5ft in depth, however I found out the hard way after shutting down to fish that the area was only 1.5ft deep, I tried to get it up on plane and the prop dug into the shell and rock bottom and put a few little "v" shaped notches on one of my blade edges, I was wondering if this will throw the prop off blance or cause an problems, its a Tempest Plus prop, and its not bent at all it just has a few little "v" dings on the blade that are about the actual size of this lowercase v. should I be concerned at all or just keep running it. ?

Will it effect performance....yes.

Enough for you to notice....Probably not.

Should you keep running it....By all means.

Any imperfection in the prop will change the way it performs but small imperfections = small performance changes.

Lesson learned I hope, idle to deeper water before trying to get on plane.

TOXIC

thanks for the info Tox, I learn something new everytime I take it out on the water, I couldnt idle to deeper water because there was no deeper water near by and everything was choked w/ eel grass and it kept clogging the water intake and wrapping around the prop, it took me an hour to use the trolling motor to get back to the channel where I could get her up and running again.
