OK..... So here's another looney thought that popped into my head..... Don't know if it would play in Peoria or not..... It was inspired by my enjoyment of taking kids fishing (Yeah! Women, too!), the experience with MOFish and the blind Boy Scouts and Sue D's request for old equipment for her special kids.....

How about we make donations of some of our rewards points to needy organizations so that they can take kids fishing!

It would be a pleasure for me to coordinate it, find an organization and make the necessary arrangements with BPS. If it works out, we could do it every year in conjunction with our rally.

Whadayathink?

me!

I like it! I'm not going to get enough points to benefit me that much, and I'd just as soon support something for kids, scouts, or something along those lines.

Tex

Here is a question, how do you find out how many points you have and what in the world they are good for? I got my card 2 yearsago when I bought the boat, and have been buying stuff with the card but never get a statement or know how many I need for what?

O.K. as usual I,m in the dark. I buy from BPS all the time but I,m not aware of bonus points what are they and how do you obtain them.I'd be more than willing to donate them to such a cause as teaching kids to fish.

Mark G.

Mark - stop by the customer service/return desk, and they can give you one in minutes. Bring any receipts that you have for the last 30 days, and they will credit you.

Trep - you don't have any points! I have them transferred to me automatically. LOL!

Thanks there is nothing I would like better but the service desk is 350 miles away in Chicago. So I'll call instead . Hopefully some day they will have the revelation to build a store in the twin city market. It actually maybe a blessing in disguise or I'd have to get a second job.

Mark G

Mark - I would think the Twin Cities would be a HUGE place for a store, trounce those Gandermountan stores!!! But if you look at the map they seem to have a very SLOW move out west and north of detriot.

What a great idea! I just cashed mine in last order, but if the idea takes off, I will certainly donate any future points.

Rich D

OK but what do you GET with these points? Free stuff? Discounts?? Gift Certificates???

If I remember correctly, you get 1 point for every $ you purchase. I think the points are worth 1/2 cent each. They can be redeemed against a purchase and you need 500 points before they can be redeemed.

Although the points are there on every purchase, you have to sign up for an "account" to accumulate the points otherwise they just disappear. All accumulated points will also disappear if you don't make a purchase for 6 months.

At the BPS store here, they gave me a credit-type card that I present every time I make a purchase. I have no idea in the world how many points I have - just "well over" 500!

Sure, I'd like to get an additional discount somewhere down the line on a purchase..... But at only 1/2 of 1% in credit, I'd be just as happy to see some kid get a chance to share in our pastime!

me!

Scott,

I don't believe that you can transfer or just give your points away.

Russ

I just called the Reward Center and they tell me that I have 6,775 points worth $135.50. Doing the math that is $1.00 for every 50 points.

Russ

Russ - What is the reward center phone number? Did they tell you that you could just use those discount against any purchase?

Scott - I've got the card just don't remember if they ever told me what to do with them. I expected a yearly or quarterly statement like a frequent flier card, or a coupon when I hit a certain level.

Will call them and see.

Hang in there, Guys..... I'm on the phone trying to get to the right person right now!

Whistling...foot tapping...waiting for an answer....Scott, you've been on the phone for 20 minutes. What gives?

OK.....

It IS possible for us to donate SOME of our points..... It's just that it is going to take some coordinating.....

PLEASE..... Let's not get the issue confused by everyone calling BPS on the same thing!

I'm not even talking about doing it right this minute - but maybe in conjunction with our 2003 rally..... And maybe future rallies.....

me!

Hmmm, got a pop, filled the hot tub, added chemicals, read the manual for my new livewell pumps... well Scott???

Come on! I'm talking a long-term project here! Not likely I'm going to get it set up the way I want to in one day!

Geez! You guys are even more impatient than I am.....

Scott - I thought you were just going to get us the phone # and how to redeeem points, I didn't know you were trying to set up this donation thing right now.

Well - Is it set up yet???

Trep, Phone number to check you points & general info is 800-277-2582.

Russ

No, it isn't, Michael.....

Like I said, it is going to take some doing..... I just wanted to put out some feelers before I got too far involved.....

I am now involved; I'm working with the Marketing Department at BPS. We'll see what we can put together!

me!
