I still need a charger, Im needing a 3 bank charger that I can feel safe leaving it plugged in

Other than Guest, Minn Kota was the only one I was considering.

All the best,

Glenn

Glenn nailed it. I have run Guest for years both guiding on Champlain and tourney fishing all over the east coast and have never had a problem. My boat sees a LOT of rough water and my charger has never quit. Great customer service too.

My '02 Pt185 came with a single bank charger. I bought a single bank Minn Kota for the other battery. Since then, the Guest failed, they replaced it, it failed again a cuple of years later. I replaced it with a Minn Kota and have not had any problems since. Works for me!

Minn Kota has excellent customer service too. I've never had an issue with a Minn Kota product that wasn't addressed quickly and completely to my satisfaction.

When Sue (and Sonya Cook) was at Guest, I would have said the same thing about Guest, but I wasn't impressed (at all) with my last dealings with Guest. I still bought the charger because I truly believe the 2631A was "the best" charger for me...but it wasn't without a lot of hesitance after talking with them on the phone.

All the best,

Glenn

Im not impressed with their customer service yet either, Ive been trying for 7 days to send back a new charger. Im going to have to buy another charger so I can fish.

When Sue D left, things changed, it was a corporate thing and we the customers suffer. Look at how long it has taken Lowrance to recover from the Linda Colt fiasco!! I still run GUEST and have had great luck. I just always remember the pictures of boats burned up with different chargers on them. I'll always run GUEST unless product quality goes down.

I have used and am on my second ProMariner three bank charger. I'm pleased with the service. I do not need a 'hot re-charge' for I'm not doing multiple day tourneys anymore, so it works well for me.

I think if i was going to not have a guest in my boat my next choice would be a minnkota too. I have always had excellent service from Minnkota products. I have the 2dc Minnkota charger installed alongside a 2631a and both have worked perfect.

The comments about the CS at guest worry me a little. I have never needed them for anything on any of the 3 chargers i have owned by them and hopefully i never will.

The Linda Colt thing, guys were mad because it appears she was the only one you could turn to to get stuff done at Lowrance. I never delt with her but i did deal with others a lot and had a lot of problems. It's one of the main reasons i took my money elsewhere when it came time for new electronics.

All the boats that have burned up concearn me greatly. I work for 3 days and then Im off 3 days, so I need to charge 3 days in a row. Its hard to buy another guest with a brand new 3 bank sitting in my tackle room in the box, The minn kota may be the way to go but it seems bigger than the guest. I am concearned about leaving other chargers plugged in day and night. Guest has a 2 year warranty but they really dont want to help it seems. In 8 days now I have called them 8 times emailed them 10 times and faxed them proof of purchase. They did send one email which had a attachment that I couldnt open. When I told them about the attachment issue marinco said they would send another email. It still hasnt come. SO in order to keep fishing I need another charger.

If the charger is brand new why not return it to where you bought it from?

I bought it in Feb and because of weather just installed it and found out it had issues. So it was out of their 30 day return policy. They have offered to call Guest for me. Guest just said they were sending a new unit out tomorrow. The tech I dealt with today was apologetic saying he was the only one working this week. And would mail it in the morning.
