Well, I finally needed to change the seals on my 02 Trailstar and also discovered the o rings . Kinda surprised me when I saw them. What did you finally do about them? Went to NAPA to get them today but the number is so small and partially rubbed out that they can't be read. Tomorrow, I will go to the Tracker dealer and buy new seals and o rings. By the way, mine has a tapered spindle whereas some may have a straight one, just depends on which the factory has delivered to them.

I absolutely do not see what benefit they serve....useless.

The Tracker dealer told me that Tracker does not stock the O rings and they must be found at auto parts stores or hardwear stores. Nice! Five year old trailer and they do not carry the parts! Those O rings made it a little harder to determine the correct tightness on the hub. I am going to use a infer-red temp reader as I tow it for a ways, just to make sure it is the hub is not too tight.

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish here ?

I do not see how those stupid Orings in a small groove that's not a 1/16" deep would seal anything.

As a matter of fact...I can see how the seal would wear prematurely if it is surface to surface which is almost impossible anyway because you'd have to know exact depth (not determined) of the seal. That would also be with an identical seal and Oring also:wacko:
