After looking at previous posts and everywhere else I knew to look, I am still in search of a ladder for my 2000 nx882sc. I was at bps in charlotte, nc today on the way home from vacation at hilton head island and got my permission slip signed by the wife to get a ladder for the boat. i was dissappointed that bps didn't have one or any suggestions for that matter. i guess if i were buying a new boat from them, they would help me find one.

my wish list would be to mount a ladder semi permanently on the rear deck/transom. in a perfect world, i would like to be able to install it so that i could easily attach or remove it if i were just fishing. i am not interested in one of those 'hook on' ladders because of storage issues. i am out of storage space now already when the wife/kids are with me.

any suggestions or model numbers and where to look would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

bryan

When i was younger we use to have a ladder that attached to the side temporarily. You had to put in the boat when you were running. i have seen these before at Academy i think.

Both my boats have had permenant ladders mounted on the transom. I never found that they got in the way. Both were the type that the bottom half folded and latched in the up position.

If possible, find one with hand rails that extend above the transom. It will make it much easier to get your weight up and onto the deck.

Call the TMBC Service Center (BPS Tracker) in Concord (704-979-2200). Tell them you need part # 96631. They have 2 in stock. $182.25

craig,

i checked out the ladder that i think you are talking about. i don't know what the part # is, but i took it out and tried it on a nx882 that they had just sold. it didn't fit correctly. if you mount it on top of the transome, the ladder didn't pull down perpendicular to the rear. it almost came out at about a 45 degree angle and was questionable if it would even touch the water when extended.

just to make sure, i will call the parts guy that helped me on friday and see if the ladder that we tried was the same part number.

thanks,

bryan
