Do you get aggravated at the bashing Nitro boats get? I usually don't get to bothered about it but here lately it seems to be awful on some sites. I really like my boat and just don't see the complaints some of these people are talking about. I looked at many different brands before I bought mine and I just don't see it.

How about Tracker bashing?:unsure::lol:

Don't get me started:eek:

J/K

Don't let it bother you. People will complain in public, but you seldom see people praise something in public. If you are happy with your boat, just enjoy it and ignore Internet criticism. Does Nitro / Tracker have issues? Sure. But so does every other boat company. Every one of them.

All the best,

Glenn

I'm not bashin'...just haven't had any good experiences:lol:

And yes...don't let it bother you.

David I went from Nitro to a Tracker TV-18. I fish a lot of tourneys and boy did I get a rash of $#!^ from the guys. Not only did I have a Nitro (God for bid) but now I went aluminum!!!!!!!! They thought I was crazy and couldn't make a good decision about a boat.

My come back line? I look them straight in the eye and ask: "You did pay your enry fee didn't you?" Then walk away. Shuts them right up!!!!!!

Randy!

I'm on my second Nitro now. My first one was a NX750DC. I bought it new and kept it for 6 years with not one problem. I would still have it but last fall I came across a left over 2008 901CDX that bass pro had clearanced at over $11000 off. To good of a deal to pass up. So far not one problem with it. I don't know what people can find to bash about them.

I don't mind the bashing so much, if people would just tell the true facts and not something they have heard or think they know.:D

This is my 14th year with my Nitro.. I have had nothing but compliments about my boat.. Dont let it bother you. I dont think I have ever heard anyone bashing KVD about his "Nitro"?:p

Have a great fishing season in your Nitro.. I know I will

No, it's just like folks bashing Fords, Chebbies, etc. I've been fishing on lakes with all brands of boats and quite frankly, what's the difference and do the fish know? Folks have to rationalize their expenditures. My boat looks brand new on everything except for the things I've screwed up. Can't fault Nitro for that. I would have done the same damage to a more expensive boat and been really pissed at myself.

I like my boat. I paid for my boat. I don't give a diddly-darn what anyone else thinks, unless they want to kick in for fuel, then I will listen to them. I won't change a thing, but I will listen...

as my partner (Randy Baehre..=SPLASH)..its not the boat that catches fish..but the fisherman....and on his death bed he gave me his 1994 TF 190 Nitro....we beat that boat...and he willed it to me...and I will use it ...and fix it....and have placed it my Will:cool: to ROBBIE BAKER....so he can pass it on to one of his two sons, or both,,,THAT IS HOW MUCH confidence I have in Nitro.........................

I have been on this site for awhile now and I have a few things to say from time to time. I wanted to let you all know that I have recently retired from the housing industry because it sucks so bad and now I was hired by Bass Pro to sell Nitro and Tracker boats. One of the main reasons I took the job is because I have been running Nitro bass boats since 1996. I have never had an issue with my boats that wasn't caused by my own stupidty. If there was an issue my dealer took care of it no questions asked. I think your dealer is as important as the brand. I will try to answer any questions that could arise on this site. I'm working at the BPS in St. Charles, Mo. if anybody gets that way stop in.

Hey Rich...congrats on what I would consider a 'dream job'. I'll have to check how far St. Charles is from Springfield. I'm visiting a college down there in a few weeks with my oldest daughter.

Let them bash, if they can catch us.

I purchased my first Nitro in 1992. And I admit, I had problems with gelcoat cracks in the transom area. But guess what, when the boat was 4 years and 10 months old Bass Pro replaced the boat under a full warranty. I am still running that 1997 replacement boat. It still looks and runs as good as new. Show me another boat manufacturer that would take care of a customer like that.

I don't get sucked into others negativity. They can bash for whatever reason they want but ALL boat makers have lemons from time to time and the people who get them scream the loudest. It was "in vogue" to bash NITRO for a long time and old habits die hard. My 2000 boat and motor have been more than anyone could have expected. I just tell bashers, sorry for your bad luck, hope you get it worked out. And if possible give them some tips to help. I will say the bashing has trailed off a lot from what it was in the past.

TOXIC

I agree with Tox,.....and I think it's the new Z series boats that have caused the decline in bashing.....they seem to be a GOOD hull!!;)

I've had my Nitro 175 Sport F & S since I bought it new in 2001. I heard all the bashing and even, "why a F & S?" My in-laws live very near the Ohio river and on a nice summer evening enjoy a boat ride. 99.9% of the time I am using it to fish.

Well, I have never had a problem with it. It still looks brand new (garaged since I've owned it). And I use it ALOT! I retired from my career and also work PT at Bass Pro (Cinci.). I look at the new Z line every day I am there but, can't find any reason to sell mine.

Now, I never fail to get complimented on it (at 10 years old). I even have people ask me about the features of the F & S. It's rigged legal for tournament needs. And, the walkthrough windshield is sweet on a cool/cold morning. Yes, I give up some room on casting platforms and rod storage but, all in all just perfect for me.

Only those of us that own Nitro can really understand how nice they are. Forget all the bashing; it's jealousy over what you have for what you paid!

I've owned a lot of boats, encompassing almost 30 years, from different manufacturers in my lifetime. I've seen the "ins and outs" of several assembly plants from some of those manufacturers and I've found manufacturing similarity across the board.

People get lemons from everything made by man. Nitro/Tracker (TMBC) get a bad rap sheerly from a numbers perspective. They make more watercraft than anyone else. (Period) In that volume of manufacturing and sales you will find two things; a larger number of man-made irregularities (not percentage) and a larger ownership of the small percentage of customers that are hard to satisfy by any means. Smaller operations with smaller market penetration have a smaller incident of irregularity and problematic owner that coincides with their market share. They also hold the slightly unique ability to scrutinize production due to their lower production demands, although not necessarily the case with all small builders.

It really boils down to a numbers game when you look at it all. I say this not to diminish anyone who has or had an issue, but to address the industry as a whole in volume v. standards and try to illustrate that it happens similarly across the board when comparatively analyzed. This is solely my conclusion from my experience in the industry over these many years and nothing else.

I stopped visiting some of the other sites for that reason. While we occasionally do some bashing here, it almost never get's abusive or out of hand.

Like the comment above, I'd like to see some of these folks that love to bash NITRO sit down and try to have that conversation with the best Angler on the face of the planet (KVD). That would be an interesting exchange.

I bought my first tracker boat in 1988,an 1800 TF,it had a 150 merc xr4,it used alot of gas,but that sob would fly,in 1988 75 mph was Fast, i caught alot of fish out of that boat and never had a problem with it,my kids and i loved it.then i got a nitro nx 750 fished out of it for years no problem,i just bought a nitro z7 nice boat, but am having top speed control problems hope i can find a solution, but after alls said, the only complaint i have with nitro boats,is not the boats, but the service dept.personal, its been my experience, that they are not capable, nor qualified, though ive only delt with the one in Orlando Fla.the only thing they accomplished with my boat was to get the new carpet dirty.

pecos ps i dont want to give a false impression, most of the dealers that handle the Tracker products are qualified,in service, and rigging, the ones you will find inferior service wise, are some of the serv.depts.at bass pro stores.

bobski........GREAT POST

Rich..... I am from Rolla, I will be sure to stop in and say hi sometime!!

I've never had anyone say anything negative about my boat. I got a good deal on it, it is paid for, and have spend zero dollars maintaining it (only PM on the engine too). I could care less what other people think about it. I'll also add the service center in Hendersonville TN that does Nashville's rigging has been top notch when I've had questions, prop advice, etc.

rich,

my condolances on having to take a job that pay's as god aweful as the new policy at bps

I was a top salesman(#36 nationwide) for years for T.M.B.C. LLC prior to the recent reorganzation.(refused to accept the huge downgrade in pay)

the pay scale your working under you better love your job. i wish you luck and hope for your sake bps relizes the era of their ways. if you have any questions or need to ansewer one for a customer i'll be happy to help

as far as the brand goes I still have mine and unless my next job is selling ranger or legands then I'll keep it, as it dose everything i ask of it on big water like champlain thats sayin something.

there is a guy in my club who hates nitro's he was one of the guys who bought a carbon fiber nitro and went tru three boats in a year before nitro ceased production because they relized their era. (but they made it right for the customers that bought them)

he got a brand new glass 929 the next year as a replacment for his 901 just to keep him happy.

he now runs skeeter and bashes nitro. i say good luck to skeeter keeping this guy happy,

in a few years it will be them getting bashed when he buys a ranger, stratos, phenoix, legand, trition. just the kind of guys they are pay it no mind

Joe, Thanks for the condolances. I hope I don't need them. I know alot of people are upset about the recent changes to say the least. I'm going to give it my best and go from there. Thanks also for the help offer.

happy to have you with us rich!

good luck and i hope you get the time to actually fish rather than just talk about it.

seems in that job it is hard to get any free time.

at least while the weather is good.

be well
