A few a you may have read a few posts back that I started looking for another job in and outside the company. Well, I found a job within the company and I was ready to take it when my boss pulled me aside and offered me the job I always wanted (here anyway)...a System Architect for all of our Web Development. I was so fired up but of course "I had to think about it". I am so glad I don't have to start over in another department and my promotion should still go thru at the end of the year. If I would have left, I wouldn't have got the promotion. I guess I was a bit wrong when I said they don't value their people. I think he knew I was leaving and he found a way to make me happy. Pretty cool!

Sometimes ya just gotta play a little hardball with them. With $$ as tight as it is ya gotta pry it out!! Good choice on their part I'm sure!! Good luck in the new position.

Great news. I'm in IT, and have always had to 'leave' both the company/department to get where I wanted to go. Glad to see that you are able to 'stay put', but with new digs.

Congratulations!

Tex

Teri - Great news! I'm in IT like you and Tex, and like Tex always had to leave to get what I wanted in responsibility, challenge and enjoyment. At least till I got to IBM 3 years ago! Just started 3 weeks ago my new internal job, the 3rd in 3 years in IBM. Enjoy the change!

With IT jobs so hard to get right now -- Glad to hear you got promoted Teri.--Good Luck-- Now all you have to do is learn how to spell "IT". LOL --

Tex - Been in this since "68" -- Vacuum tube's IT. LOL

Again "Lots of Luck Teri"-- HaleDamage

HaleDamage - sounds like we are kindred spirits. Started in High School at a tender age.

Graduated Texas A&M in 1968, and started work. Yep, that is when IT was an acronym, yet to be defined. Still remember my first foray into computers while at school. Wish I still had that 'deck of punchcards', that we used to program with! Who needs a User Interface!
