Hi All,

I just got a new BPS XPS 3 bank charger (I know it's not a Guest, Had to go with the budget on this one). I hooked it up to a couple of extra batteries I had in the garage to test it out. It was really boiling the heck out of one of the batteries. It's a Die Hard 650cca wet cell and it is topped off with water. Should I be concerned?

I'm a little nervous about it. I have a 10 amp portable charger that doesn't boil this battery and the new charger is only supposed to put out 5 amps per bank.

Any thoughts?

It doesn't sound good.Is the battery over full? try hoohing a different bank up to the same battery and see what happens. To be safe I would call customer service number,It sounds like its over charging.

As a follow up, I checked the status of the charger this morning and the charging light was out indicating that the batteries were fully charged and on float mode. I did neglect to mention that this charger will distribute it's total amps(15) across all connected batteries so if battery 1 was 80% discharged and battery 2 was 20% discharged battery 1 would get more amps than battery 2. So my battery that was boiling could have been getting as much as 15 amps.
