Ok - I finally got the photos from my brother today. This picture is of the big one living in my boat house. Caught it two weekends ago when by brother and his family were staying at the Lake Anna house. It was just after dark and my nephew had just hooked a 16" on the other side of the boat house and I was busy watching him instead of my line. Next thing I know, I start reeling in mine to go help him and I notice that my line is zooming into the boat house! Panic city! I set the hook and he kept on going into the boathouse! This was the first time my heavy pole bent like that! I swung him up over the dock as there was no net nearby. I then learned my lesson about what not to do with a fish that big- NEVER try to hold it up by the line in your bare hands. Sliced up my finger pretty well. Finally put him in the big net for a while as the nephew was using the pliers to retrieve his hook. Mine was gut hooked (since I wasn't paying any attention), so I ended up cutting the line.

He was at least 19 1/2" long. We didn't weigh him as I was afraid of hurting him and wanted to get him back in the water ASAP. (the last fish I weighed really tore up his gills and jumped out of the hook on the scales - any tips folks??)

My guess is that he went between 4-6 lbs. He felt heavy and had a good girth.

Trepman - I think I know now how you felt when you caught your big one! What a wild rush! I knew that big boy was hiding there as he had stolen my plastics on several occasions.

Everyone caught fish that night! I'm looking forward to the next big one.

That is a down right "purdy" fish (even for a green carp)...LOL

David - SWEET catch dude! man it must the the camera and night flash, that thing sure DUES look like a GOLDEN color, no visable latteral line or anything, but MOUTH on that thing says Largemouth ALL THE WAY!!!

Mine was a hair over 22 inches at ALMOST 6lbs (5 lbs 13 oz) so my VERY unscientific guess would be 4.5 - 5lbs. A HUGE fish no less!!

Ahahahahaha! It just so happens...I have two bags of those Zoom lizards I haven't used that much...but, that WILL change:)

Nice fish! I am still waiting for another one.

Travis - is was a chameleon color.

Toxic - what cold side??

I like going to the house, turning on the power and using the electric boat lift to drop it in the water. Much easier than driving a trailer around :). I caught this one off the dock. The boat was still up in the air.

Awsome fish. My personal best catch came from Lake Anna, 6 Lbs 9ozs. !!

I guess the Dead Sea lives after all !

Also, I am thinking about trailering down on Thursday July 22. Any tips on where to start ???

Ken,

If I hadn't just got back from 2 weeks in Wisconsin, I would meet you at the lake. I talked to my partner last night and he told me that Anna is in her summer patterns right now. Look for deep water with flats or cover nearby (docks, etc.). I had a nice fish right before I left and I will be out there this weekend for sure getting the pattern put back together. Good bets are in the rivers and mid lake. C-rigged senko's and lizards are also good summer Anna baits.
