What model, year and size TM? Could be anything from a bad switch to a bad board depending on the model.

Ditto Toxic. On my previous TM, a 55 MK PD, I had the opposite problem in that it broke leaving me in a constant run situation, auto-pilot running amok, with me falling on my keister to avoid an unscheduled dip. I had to change the board. $60 bucks but I could easily do it myself.
