Minn Kota Maxxum Speed Control Issue

Hi all,



I have a transom mount Maxxum 55. I have an issue with the digital speed controller, its not a 5 speed its the variable version. I can turn it from 0% to 75% and it does nothing, if i turn it a tad more i got 80% power. Very anoying if trying to troll slow.



Anyone know what the problem is on this unit?

I had the same issue a few years ago with mine(same model). I took it to a local service center and they had to replace the variable speed contoller. Mine was just inside the warranty period so it was free. I don't know how much it would have cost if not under warranty. It has worked fine for 2 years since.

I had a different model but also had to replace the speed controller.
