I had a little scare the first time I took my 185 Sport out the other day. I opened the ski storage below the main deck and it was full of water, I figured if that compartment was full then the whole boat must be full to that level. But that was not the case, it was just that compartment. Anyway, on my 4th time out last weekend I finally figured out the ski storage is filling up when the forward livewell is in use. I know the tank itself is not leaking, where is the overflow from the livewell supposed to go? Sorry for being so clueless, like I told you all before, this is my first real boat, every trip out so far is still an adventure! Anyway, the boat is great. Last Saturday was the first time I really got to blow it out. We made a few 10-15 mile runs, and even slowed down long enough to catch a couple of bass and a bunch of crappie!

Read,

I know that on some older boats, the overflow just dumps into the bilge and then the bilge pump has to pump it out. I think it is a ridiculous system, but that may be what is happening to you. Check all your hoses. If that is the case, I would run a new line and get the fittings to have the overflow pump out next to the bilge line. Good luck.

The drain on your front livewell should be plumbed back to the step underneath the transom. If you look under there you should see two inlets with screen filters over them, two drain openings and the bilge area drain with the plug in it.

I get a little water in my ski locker when using the front livewell also. I thought I had a leak too, but it seems to be caused by the water sloshing around in the odd shaped livewell and leaking over the top a little.

Thanks for the ideas! I think I will make myself a short overflow tube and see if that helps. Maybe that will stop it from sloshing over the top if that is where the water is comming from. If that does not work I will start running the lines, I alredy checked what I could get at easily and could not find any leaks. That front well is so small all I have been using it for is live bait anyway.
