Well I dunked my 1996 nitro 170dc in the water for the first time today. The livewell automaticly filled up ? As soon as I was on plane it emptied. No when I launch with the long white tube installed it doesnt happen? Is this just a broken valve?

I've got the 95" 170TF, I think the same livewell system as you. Nothing is wrong with your livewell. If you leave the tube out, the livewell will fill to the level of the water outside the boat. If you are keeping fish, put the tube in once water fills to the level outside the boat and turn on the "Freshwater" switch, which will fill the livewell to the top of the white tube, at which time it will run out the tube and out of the boat. If you don't plan on keeping any fish, put the tube in before launching and it will keep a dry livewell so you don't have to carry around all that water for nothing. No worries bro'.
