Have any of you guys actually tried to deploy/pull down the port side "emergency" ladder on a Z6 when you are in the water? It's impossible. I know, I tried - and there is just no way. Even harder is to hook it back into the bracket afterward. The only way is to unscrew the two philips head screws, put the ladder back under the rubber bracket and tighten it back down. Looks good and maybe passes some kind of requirement but it's just boat candy .... FUBAR/DOA.

I also have a 2011 Z6 and have used the ladder once. It deployed and stored just fine. I don't think there is an adjustment. Maybe it needs to be used a couple of times to break it in. (?)

Just give it a squirt with a little silicone lube where the ladder contacts the rubber piece then it works like a champion, mine was that tight also but wit a little lube and clipped it in and out a few times, all sorted.

A little di-electric lube on the rubber piece and a stringent work out seemed to help. Thanks again T59. I realize my post seems like kind of a minor one but I did manage to fall overboard once, fishing alone in a Bayliner, in ice-out water and had to monkey-climb up the motor. Lost a nice rod and reel - then had to rush back to the ramp and to the heat of the truck. Not something I'll ever forget.

Thanks again.
