You may just need to tighten the plastic bolt on the backside of the ignition switch This happened to me 2 years ago. Worked one day, then the next day I couldn't turn the key. Sweating bullets, I noticed that the "slot' for the key had rotated. While at the dock I finally got it realigned and tightened down. Try that procedure first before dropping bucks on a new switch.

Tim C has the best first item answer. This is a common item that loosens and a little attention may go a lon way.

Just had mine do this last trip. Tightened it up, waiting to see if it stays tight and will retighten in a few trips then plan on putting some super glue on it to keep it from backing off.

There is a large serrated washer that goes on the back of the switch.
When you tighten the nut, the washer locks it in place
Even if the oblong hole has worn out

Don't glue it. You will be sorry in the long run.

Why?
A dab of Super Glue will not be hard to break lose if need be?
Probably not. It is your call. Me, I would rather use something like blue loctite if I did not trust the serated washer to do its job. Good luck

Honestly, this is good advice. Use blue Loctite for something like this.
As a former mechanic, let me share that the right tool for the right job and the right drop of something in the right place at the right time, goes a long way.
