Jd - gel coat Test results

Ok I did the test like you said JD. Picked a scratch that went across the black and a red strip on the side. After brusing on the clear, both the black and red color came back and the white went away. Just put it on 2 minutes ago. Does this mean it is the clear outer coating that is damaged only?

yes now to get it looking,like new get some 3000 grit sand paper or emory cloth and wet sand the area inside of the scratch usualy using the edge ofthe paper then apply more clear coat do this one step at atime until the clear coat is even with surronding surface then lightly sand with 4000 grit wet paper then use good polish and rub it out and wax I like Dupont number 7 polish

this will not work on boats that do not have the top gel coat molded in
