Anyone have a problem with their boat (mine is a PT 185 ) hitting the first cross member(from the front of the trailer) when loading it onto the trailer? It only happens on a few very steep ramps in my area. I usually have just the tips of the side rollers out of the water. I have been thinking about a solution. I have a heavy nylon cutting board 3/8 thick which I could cut to the same shape as the cross member and then bolt it in some manner to the back side of that cross member. I think it would be better for the boat to slide up on nyoln rather than steel. Any opinions?

I also thought about that solution, but it would take about $25 -$30. I measured the width of the contact area and it would take about a 8" roller to make sure I always hit it.
