Alright so who here takes and posts pictures with there I-phone? Some people go to great lengths smudging out the background so they dont reveal the spot. What alot of people dont know is that the picture itself can hold alot of different information.

How about somebody posts a NON SECRET iphone pic and I will see if I can figure out where it is.

I always have a few spots that are my secret spots and never even thought of this !

I do take pics with my iphone from time to time(not my primary camera by any means) but i never turned on location services for the camera app so there is no geo tagging going on at all on mine. All its doing is using the gps to get your coords and putting that info into the pictures exif metadata, this is nothing new at all and i would not concider is a problem. If you dont want the geo tagging goign on go to setings, general, location services and turn off locaton services for the camera app and any other you dont want using the gps. I turn most of them to off since i dont want the battery drain while im running anything but my tom-tom app or maps.

One a side note personally i could care less if someone had the gps coords of my "spots". I subscribe more to the finding a pattern then i do fishing "spots".

Old Guide trick....NEVER take the pictures where you caught the fish and this was WAAAAYYYY before geotagging. It's because all my pics get put in the brag book at the marina and the locals know every spot:lol::lol:. Normally mine are taken at the marina. The the fish are turned loose.
