order the th hot foot from bps ($70), and the teleflex pro trim for the column ($40). they also have the new throttle cable at bps in their parts dept. i have a nx882 and it took a 14' cable on mine. jim kindof walked me through the whole deal since his boat is the same as mine. he also has a post which is VERY helpful in the grap bag on installing the pro trim. i installed my hotfoot last night and everything went ok. just installed it too far under the console so i am going to have to move it, but that isn't a big deal. took me about 3 hours for both the hotfoot and the pro trim. i had roughly $150 in parts plus my time. the local dealer wanted about $400 for the whole job.

How do you figure out how much longer your cable has to be? I also have an 896 and want to install a hotfoot but would like to order everything at once. Thanks MP

Lets see if Craig can jump in here and enlighten us. If he can let us know what we need I will GA and get it from him. I am like you. I can install it, but just need to know what all is needed.

Bryan, thanks for the help.

jim b told me what length cable i needed for my nx882. i don't know what length you would neet. you could either measure from the original throttle to the point where the hotfoot will be located and check with the dealer on the size of the factory cable and add the additional length to the hotfoot or you could measure from the motor all the way around and to where the hotfoot will be located. my guess is a foot long won't hurt you, but a foot short won't work. best advice would be to ask the dealer what length he recommends and go from there to verify those with your measurements.
