Ok,

Just got off the phone with the service manager. He said the moisture (lake) won't hurt anything, it was designed to get wet.

He was surprised by all the water that passed through the cover. I have to bring him the cover to be sent out and repaired / replaced by Tracker. He is going to give me a shipping cover in the meantime until my cover is fixed.

What do you guys think? Should I have expected more?

If he's willing to repair or replace your cover,...that sounds fair to me,.....you might also want to rig up a pole of somesort to raise the center of your cover while being stored,...it'll let the water run off and not collect in any "dips" in the cover......just take the pole out before you travel. I'd be pleased with a new or repaired cover,.....but in a tactful way let him/her know that "moisture" is not 4" deep!!..LOL

Also,...if you use a pole to raise the center of your cover to help with run-off,.....cut a tennis ball in half or use a a small plastic food dish on top of the pole to disperse the weight of the cover,..it'll prevent your pole from poking a hole in the cover.

Sounds like he is trying. That's a good start. However, while your carpet was intended to get wet from time to time, it was not meant for that water to freeze. Once the carpet is wet, there is water throughout it and under it. When the water freezes, it expands, thus pulling the carpet from the adhesive that holds it to the deck. It will usually pull it up. Grab the carpet where it was frozen the worst, can you pull it up off of the deck a little or does it shift if you try to move it around like waxing a floor. If it does, the glue let go and that spot will wear out very fast. Check it out. Does sound like your mgr there is willing to take responsibility and make it right. So don't stress the relationship if you can help it.

Mac,

I usually use my Pro seat and pole in the lower deck to keep the cover up so the water runs off. Unfortunately I was in the process of moving from house to house and didn't put the pole in this particular time.

The carpet does pull up where the water was frozen, I did tell him about that and he is going to take care of it in the spring when it is warmer and the glue will stick better.

I'll try the tennis ball trick for the pole.

The mgr. there has always been helpful, it's just the techs that don't take the time to care.

Thanks,

BruceY

Sounds like he's trying to make it right with you...thanx for the update.
