I need to jack up my trailer, with boat on it, and remove a wheel. How and what should I use.

My father & brother are truck mechanics but everything is overcomplicated with them!

It's a Tandem trailer.

Do I jack it up from the axle, udner the spring or towards the center more? The axles are enclosed in square channels

Should I hook the trailer up tp my truck so it can't roll away? Or will that torque the trailer, just use chocks?

Should I use a bottle jack, if I can get it under the axle? Or use my truck jack?

I have no idea so please help anyway you can.

they make a trailer jack that goes down to the ground and you back your trailer up and it raises trailer most boat stores have them and RV dealers have them

Chris a bottle jack works fine . Or is that a Bottle of Jack Daniels ? That sounds even better:lol:

Duh, I should just call my fellow member TomMac from NJ.

Tom, Since your going to Assunpink I assume no MC this weekend? We may do a pick-up TX in Mt lake this weekend.

Just pull it up to a curb and have the "good" tire on said curb. The "bad" tire should be suspended enough to take it off. Of course you need to have it hooked to your truck the entire time. Did it once in the parking lot of a tire store :)

I have used my truck jack for many years and no problems. Put the jack directly under the leaf springs where it mount to the axle. If you try to jack it up toward the center on the axle you will bend the axle. Also I just block the tires on the oppisite side of trailer, no need to hitch it up to the truck.

Beer and AAA, Just a phone call away.........BWhahahaahahaaa:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
