Okay, thinking about getting the 95 Stratos a new carpet (getting thin and ragged in a number of places). It's an 18' boat, so any thoughts or experiences on what I might expect to have someone do it (they provide the carpet, expertise and muscle power)?

Finally got a response from someone in my area that is interested in doing it, just haven't had the chance to talk with him yet. Like to get a ballpark idea, before I talk with him.

Thanks.

I HAVE BEEN THINKING OF DOING SOMETHING TO MY PT 175 2004. LOOKING AT SOMETHING OTHER THAN CARPET, MAYBE SPRAYED IN LINER, LIKE RHINO OR SIMILAR. SAW A 3/8 RUBBER LINER AT A BOAT SHOW WITH BALL PARK COST OF $800-900 FOR A 17'6" BOAT. SEEMS HIGH BUT IT WAS NICE. ANYONE DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS? WOULD LIKE TO KNOW AND ALSO ABOUT NEW CARPET (MAYBE)

from what I have read/heard is that it can be pretty expensive for someone to do it due to the fact it is pretty labor intensive. Most save hundreds by doing it themselves. Carpet for a bass boat won't run but a couple hundred or so and it can be over $1000 for someone to do it. It really isn't that difficult either.

Byron - thanks for the link. Close but no cigar. I've pretty much decided that I'm not going to even attempt to do the work myself for many, many reasons. I do like to tinker and do minor work/upgrades, but not this level. If I did try and do it myself - it would likely take me months with my schedule (and age!).

I did have someone call me back (email actually) and I'll be getting together with him to see about getting it done.

The only quote i got for my 2001 Ranger 520 was just over $2k. I did it myself for less than $600.

That was for the INSTALL.....I had already ripped the carpet out and had new lids made.

it isnt that hard to do. Certainly worth the time it takes compared to the savings!

I do know that there are more places down south that do refirbs on boats so it may be cheaper.

I had my 929 done last year, they removed the old carpet and install new with a pad on the front deck. I was better than the factory job and cost $1400.
