Walked up to a couple in the Katy, Texas BPS store who were looking over the TV-18. They looked serious so I struck up a conversation with them. We talked about their old Bass Tracker and how much they loved and miss that old boat. I told them that Tracker has come a long way, and to prove the point I walked them over to the shiny white Avalanche on the showroom floor. The husband couldn't believe it was aluminum, or that it could top 60 mph with the 175. The wife doesn't like speed, so we talked about other motor options. We also talked about the Tundra. He started asking about Bay boats, but I begged off. When I told him I was from St. Louis and wasn't a salesman, he smiled and said I had done a good job selling them on a new Tracker. Too bad I didn't know how to do the paperwork, but good thing that there was a real salesman handy. Saying, "Talk to that guy" is a lot easier than saying, "Sign here, and here, and here."

I wish I had more room in my luggage. There was a bunch of stuff I would have like to have bought and taken home.

MO - I LOVE that Katy store! When I worked for GTE i'd spend 1 week/month in Los Colinas at company HQ, would spend my evenings at that store! The only thing that I didn't like was they never put a decent resturant in there, they expect you to go next door to the hotel. I LOVE the one (resturant) in Springfield, but they (Katy) did have that snack bar that would get me by!!

I too find myself doing the same thing when i'm in the local BPS, always keep a load of John Fosters Nitroowners.com color business cards handy too!

Ken: Maybe. Talk to me after June 30. I'll know then if I need a new job. Ha!!

Trep: I wanted a stack of those cards, too! I was gonna walk around and put one inside a rod locker on every boat! The hotel I'm staying at is only nine miles away. I might go back over there tonight after dinner.

Tell Paul Glenn I said HI...he's the GM of Tracker there.

I'll ask for him, and if he's there I'll pass along your greetings.

Hey Ken - You guys get any 2003 Pro Crappie 175's in yet? I know there all welded now, but did they widen the hull the 10 inches to match the PT175 hull?

Thanks Ken, just asking. NO I don't have any $$ to buy a new one, just wondering! Oh, and i've not had a drip of water thru any of my rivits!

Of course not, you don't weigh enough to push the boat down into the water. It floats on sheer surface tension. I can make a small piece of rock float too! Getting testy Trep? Snow gotcha scared yet? BE scared Trep, be very ascared! LOL It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, every where in the south!

I've got Georgia on my mind! LOL

Uh Rob, I NEVER get scared of you unless you are going to SIT on me with your big BUTT!!!

MO -

"Sign here and here and here" is the easy part!

"Pay here" is when it gets difficult!

No kidding!!! I remember being on the other side of the desk with the check in my hands. After we signed all the paperwork, the sales manager asked if I had the check. But it only took two seconds to think it over. I wanted that boat.

Ken:

Severe weather tonight. Galveston is flooding out. Katy had reports of funnel clouds and everyone had torrential rain. I decided to stay put in the hotel room. As far as greeting Paul Glenn, maybe on the next trip. Sorry.
