hey everyone how ya'll doing? i have a 2000 750 with a 125 elpto. im wanting to install a hotfoot and trim on the steering. the hotfoot is it pretty easy to install? the cable from what ive heard has to be longer, how much? where do i get the cable from, i live a good distance from a mercury dealer. the trim which one do ya'll perfer the buttons or the blinker style? thanks so much. my buddy has a 93 ranger with a 150 faststrike and its awesome with the hootfoot. plus alot safer.

Blinker trim is the way to go. I've used both and prefer the blinker. I've got two on my boat steering column - on the right side, I have engine trim, on the left side, I have jackplate height.

Works great.

All the best,

Glenn

Glenn,

Any rhyme or reason for the trim on the right and the plate on the left? Reason I ask is that most of the people I know arounf here are opposite. I only have trim and mine is on the right too. I like it better over there because if I happen to stand next to the wheel I wont accidently activate the trim....

Just curious.

Mini,

My last 4 boats had it rigged on the right from the dealership. When I bought the Triton, it was also on the right. So when I installed the jack plate blinker trim, I just stuck it 180 degrees opposite. It just seems natural. I'm right handed, so I also like controls I use a lot to be on my right side.

All the best,

Glenn
