i installed my hot foot and pro trim last night. took me about 3 hours total. everything went pretty straight forward thanks to good advice from jim b. jim are you sure the bottom cable on the motor is the one connected to the hot foot? maybe i misunderstood, but the bottom cable on the motor is for the gear and the top cable is for the throttle. just a minor setback, but all is well now. only other problem is i couldn't decide where to mount the actual pedal. ended up mounting it a little too far under the console, so i may end up moving it forward. i have long legs so i works for me, but i guess it should be kindof universal for anyone driving the boat.

the pro trim was definitely the easiest of the two to install. had it on and finished in just a few minutes. had a minor problem getting the steering wheel nut back on. evidently someone had removed it before and got it cross threaded a little, so it was hard to get the nut started. after some work, got it back in place too.

thanks for everyone's help and advice. i will let you know how the hotfoot works on the h20 next week.

hey jim.....what rpm's does your boat idle at? when my cale is all the way up against the rest on the motor is it about 800 or so. is that about right? of course this is the same it was idling before the hotfoot install. just was wondering.

Bryan, glad you got it done. on my xr6 the bottom cable is the throttle and the top one is for the gear. mine idles right about 800 with the motor in neutral and about 700 in gear. When i put mine in i also got the adjustable plate for the foot so i could move it where i wanted to.

Bryan, was the pro trim that easy to wire up?My boat guy talked like it was east to mount but tuff to do the wiring and said it would take about an hour.I was wanting one but decided to hold off because of what he had said.Thanks. Mike

look in the grab bag and look for the article that jim b wrote on the installation of the pro trim. the hardest part is finding the correct wires to splice into. since jim did the article, i was able to go right to the correct wires without any trial and error. that saved me lots of time! other than that, getting the steering wheel off and back on was the hardest. all told it took me 15min. to put the pro trim on and another 15 to get the darn steering wheel back on due to a couple of crossed threads on my nut. if you need any help, let me or better yet, as jim b for advice. he is a lifesaver.
