Please, take care of yourself.

A recent joint study conducted by the

Department of Health and the

Department of Motor Vehicles indicates that

23% of traffic accidents are alcohol related.

This means that the remaining 77% are caused

by @ssholes who drink bottled water,

starbucks, soda, juice, energy drinks

and chit like that.

Therefore, beware of those who do not drink alcohol.

They cause three times as many accidents.

a drinker and worries about your safety.

On a serious note, everybody who imbibes, have a Designated Driver (a sober one) and be careful out there. I want everybody back on the board after the holiday!!

On a similar note, the news lately has been all the rage about banning Cell Phone usage and Texting while driving.

How about banning: Eating, drinking, putting on makeup, dealing with children in the back seat, reading the paper and any of the other thousands of things we see idiot drivers doing when they should pay attention to their driving.

I'm with Toxic - pay attention over the holidays when traveling. If you can, don't travel at night or in the evenings. Wait and travel the next morning/day if at all possible. We would like to have everyone back, and in good shape next year.

Another problem with this time of year are those that dont drink often. Im talking about those who only drink during Christmas parties and on New Year's eve. These are the drinkers that used to scare me the most (Pre-retirement!). This group doesnt drink often and there fore get drunk quicker, and function worse that those who drink regularly.

Their blood alcohol levels are much lower, and their driving is much worse. Get them to the station and you cant believe the BAC level is so low.

But, believe it or not, St Patrick's Day is the worst day of all, go figure!

Good point Ken, that's why I practice all year!!

Have a drink on me!

Happy Holidays and BE SAFE! You TOO TOX!

I will be very safe and my drinking is now confined to the MVM (in excess) and times when I am nowhere near a vehicle either driving or riding. Commuting 45 miles into DC means that there is no way I can afford to lose my driving privileges:lol: I have found that it's just not worth the risk anymore. :D

Just so ya know, I do like to drink, but I don't drink and drive. Most of my drinking is at home or by the fire pit at my camp. I'm required to have a valid driver's license for work.

Be safe during the holidays and the rest of the year too!!

Something many don't think about is a designated driver even if you are at home. I seldom drink, but I do like to have a little rum at home for parties and holidays. However, I won't drink if my wife has more than a glass of wine. I want to make sure that if (God forbid) something happens to someone in my family, I am not putting them in more danger driving to a hospital after I've had a few drinks. My wife and I take turns. If its her event to drink, I won't have more than one beer, and I'm sippin' that one.

All the best,

Glenn
