I am looking for a place on lake St.Clair that has lodging (cabins near the water) and boat slips. For a spring trip in the year 2003. I would prefer possably the sothern end of the lake for we are travling from Chicagoland.

Thanks for the help

Irish,...there aren't ANY cabins along the entire shoreline from Monroe to Fairhaven!! The entire US side is BIG CITY and major metro residential areas. You MIGHT be able to find something on the Canadian side (i.e. Mitchells Bay), or perhaps a rental unit on Harsens Island,..but it'll cost BIG $$.

All of the pro's end up staying in hotels/motels along the major highway corridors when they come up here to fish, but unfortunately,..there's nothing like a cabin or resort......sure wish we had one!!!!

Sorry for the bummer news!!!

Look for hotels/motels in the Roseville or Mt.Clemens areas. Like Mac said, EVERYTHING on the shoreline is BIG CITY or airbase. Although, if you go farther north to Algonac or New Baltimore, you may be able to find something. And bring LOTS of tubes! Don't forget to stop by BPS and say Hi!

My family and I are in the process of investigating properties on Lake St. Clair for the purpose of building just such a fishing resort. Consultants and realtors have been hard at work for some time now. We were originally looking to purchase such an establishment on a popular lake in Arkansas, but Michigan came to the forefront for various reasons.

We still have many obstacles to overcome (zoning, city water, $$$, etc.) but if something becomes certain, ya'll will be the first to know. Would love to make the Grand Opening a Nitro Owner's Rally!!

Irish, you shouldn't have a problem finding a nice, reasonable hotel in the area. I feel your pain, though, and Dr. Adam's working on the solution!
