Check your bunks for rot before lowering post i just replaced mine today and i will have to adjust post up some. Just wanted to put this in to check bunks. mine was good for 6 months i noticed some scratches on the bottom of my boat the bolts were coming thru the bunks and did the damage. I replaced my bunks with carriage bolts so that won't happen again. This is a 2016 Z18 the bunk on the drivers side was so rotten that it broke into three places. They looked good on top did not think about rot.
I wrote about the rotten bunks a while back. The wood used on all the trailers is extreme POOR quality. I replaced all four of mine with trearted wood within a year of buying my new 2017 Z-18. One was already completely breaking up. I repeat, less than one year service.

Less than a year? That’s crazy. Where the bunks made out of sugar?
Pourus wood. I complained about it loudly. I was told that I could bring it in and they would decide if it was covered under warrantly. They would only replace them with the same thing- I said forget it. I ordered some treated bunks, to length, that had already been wrapped and stapled. Those are almost three years old now with no problem and are still solid as new....
my complaint was not as much about the bunks as the way they installed them running lag bolts from the bottom the boards rotted on top the bolt tip came thru and left scratches on my boat they were bad deep scratches .
Yes, when I put mine back, I used galvanized countersunk bolts and nuts. JohnB noted that I said less than one year life- I checked on that, it was around 16 months but even that is a very short life. I'm sure there are a lot of 3-4 year old trailers out there that have really bad or falling apart bunks. Hard to tell when they wrapped in carpet. Trailers that don't go in the water often will do better too. Mine is wet almost every week year round.
