I didn't recieve a manual for my Guest Charge Pro charger that came with my boat. When I come off the water and put it on just the red light is on. I left it on all night and the red and green light is on. The charger that I had on my last boat had red and green lights but only the green would be on after the batteries were charged. Does the red and green mean that both are charged or just one is charges?

BJ,

What model charger do you have and how many batteries are in your boat?

Sue

Your charger is working o.k..When you first put it on and the battery is know to take a charge the battery is taking a charge a higher rate this is the red light on only.

If the battery charger has a red & green light on, it is at approx 80% - 90% mark of full charge.

Just the green light means the battery is a full charge.

Put a multimeter on while charging, output of charger on average is 14+ volts.

If you have a weak cell this affects those LED lights also, the red LED is more apt to stay on longer.

Let me answer for Sue. She will correct me if I am wrong. You have a 3 stage charger. Red- full ams going to the battery. Red/Green- diminished charge to top off. Green- charged batteries and in trickle mode to keep them strong. Worked my guest real hard over vacation. Would fish all morning, come in for lunch and rest and by the time I was ready to go out for the evening bite, all green and ready to go. Class units!!

I have had 3 guest chargers in the last 5 years....you figure out how long they last

I now have a Triple Pro from CSI. It is a much better unit.

it has 3 independant chargers, so if one bank blows the other 2 still work.

my 2 cents

oh yea--they also have a 3 year warranty--call em with your serial # and they ship you a new unit NO QUESTIONS NO PROOF OF PURCHASE

Spanky, & Toxic,

You are both right on with your explaination on how the charger works.

BJ,

You have your missing manual in your e-mail.

Mark & Carlos,

Thank you!

Drugman,

What model chargers did you have and how did they fail?

Sue D.

How it charges has been explained, but if it is charging all night and not fully charged, something is wrong. My batts have charged in 5 hours before if only half drawn. Fully charged in 7 hours. The charger is telling you something. Either you have a short or a fuse is going, bad connection or perhaps a cell ready to go in the batt. Go through all the connections and make sure you have good contact. Good luck.
