My boat is almost 5 yrs old and still looks brand new with one little exception....I found a small spot of grease on the rear deck (from the pedistal seat). My carpet is grey. Need to know what to remove the grease with come warmer weather. I pretty much vaccum the carpet after every trip so haven't used carpet cleaner....but might need something stronger. Hubby says I take better care of the boat than I door the floors in the house. I tell him "Yep...there's no dust bunnies in my boat! LOL

What are your ideas for removing the grease spot?

Thanks!

Carli

Rub it down with a little dab of "Dawn" dishwashing detergent,....tha's cuts grease like a skeg through a lime!!

Good idea, Mac!

I'd also try Resolve carpet cleaner. If it's just a grease spot and you've gotten the actual clump of grease out, Resolve should do a pretty good job of removing the rest of the stain. I use it in my truck all the time.

Mac, I have some Dawn and will try that first. I expected you to suggest a Corona!!

Mark, I have some Resolve and will try that if the Dawn doesn't work. It's just a spot (no globs) from where one of my boating partners helped me trailer the boat and took the pedistal off the seat to lower the seat and set the seat w/grease on the carpet.

Scott, WD40? Thought that might be oil based as it is a lubricant, but the can doesn't say what it's made from. It does say that it gets out grease AND it's USDA approved for meat and poultry plants!! and yet there's all sorts of other warnings about not getting it on you, breathing it or injesting it!!

I have a friend who swears by spraying his lures with WD40 in place of Baitmate to catch fish!

Thanks guys!

Carli, my dear,...I VERY rarely EVER drink in my boat,..only once last year with Neeley and it's haunted me ever since!! (And we were in HIS boat no less!!) But,..to pour the nectar of the Aztec God's on the carpet, deliberately??!! Not on your life sweatheart!! I'd use Dawn or Greased Lightening before I'd try barley and hops!! LOL

BTW,..many years ago when i thought it was cool to have a couple "pops" while fishing,....I got really tired of opening one,..taking a sip,..setting it down, and then kicking it over leaving a HUGE foamy stain!! NOT COOL!!

hahaha....now it's WATER while on the water,..and Corona's on land!! :O)

Oh Mac! I would never imply that you would EVER drink in a boat (your's or anyones). LOL I just thought that maybe you thought Corona's were the all time remedy...you know like it quenches your thirst and removes stains...sort of like Coke...quenches your thirst and removes rust from your trailer hitch!! That sort of thing! :)

Frozen water balloons! LOL yeah, Scott's got me a little worried too Mac. But he's good for the campaign, he appeals to female half of the votes we need. He posts no real threat and I think with the bribes that Neeley is taking from lure manufacturers for his war chest, we could throw a couple hundred grand at strawberries and champagne! All in the name of democracy.

Yeah,..but Clinton appealed to women voters too, and how many of the women on this board would let their daughters in the same room with him now??!! LOL

Somehow I doubt we have to worry about Scott messing with any of the interns....Mini however?

Lob all the water ballons you want guys, unless I ballon up, you can't hit what you can't see! i JUST turn sideways a disappear.

I'll just use my intercontinental ballistic, thermo nuclear, atomic, triple stitched, counter rotating, heat seeking, weenie blaster. Can't hide from that! You can run, but you can't hide Trep. That bad boys got a range of just enough states to shoot from here to GA! And it drops 24" of snow the whole way!

Mac,

We gotta have a couple of fun fishing, Corona drinking days per year.
