Good mornng everyone. Going to be in the mid 80's and far less humid today. You could feel the cold front move in last night. It should feel good and it's about time. Nancy and I are going to sit around the pool today and take it easy. We may baby-sit for my niece but don't really know yet. We don't mind, the kids just stay in the pool all day long. It's hard getting them out of it to even eat.

Coffee is on so help yourself.

Everyone have a great and safe day.

Good morning Uncle Bill and all. No coffee for me this morning. I have to go for a stress test Monday morning do to some pain in my left arm and mild chest pain. Not really sure why the stress test, the ekg was fine and matched the one ekg from the early 90's. They said no caffine for 24 hours prior to the test. It's going to be a rough, caffine free day!

Everyone have a good day,

Steve

Good Luck tomorrow, Steve!

There are quite a few of us here who have been down that pathway..... If you have any questions or need any support, let us know. My home # is 618-288-5041. Anytime.

With that said.....

Good Morning, Uncle, Billy!

102* here in St. Louis today - before the heat index! I think I'm gonna stay home and watch NASCAR!

me!

Staci, Thanks for the support. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm not worried at all. The chest pain was really mild and I think that the reason my arm aches is from the move.

My MD and I are pretty good friends (he likes to fish, so does my dentist), he just told me to quit complaining and take the test. Better safe than sorry, I guess that I agree. According to him it's no big deal, what do you think?? He said that worst part for me will be waiting, I hate to wait.

G'morning Bill and others,

Supposed to e 99 here in Mid-Tn today. Other than going to church this mornin we are not going to do much. I may go out and wash the boat and the Yukon but I doubt it.

Steve, good luck with your stress test. Remember an EKG only tells what is going on at the exact second it is being taken so it has no real value for finding out what may happen lter or what has happened in the past unless you had an attack that caused permanent damage. The stress test is a much more telling test but it is not perfect either.

Good luck with it.

Mornin' all ! Another hot & very humid day again.

morning another day over a 100 Ill stay where its cool Steve Ive had probably have had 2o stress test no big deal and it is better to know whats going on in there

Steve..... I agree with your Doctor! The worst part is the waiting and not knowing..... Thank God he has the sense to send you for testing even though it's not likely anything. Years ago, when I complained of chest pains that "felt like a heart attack" in my late 30's, the doctor I had been going to told me "You're too young to be having a heart attack; it's probably just allergies." I switched doctors because a new insurance company didn't have my old doctor on their "preferred" list..... When I mentioned the same thing to my new doctor, he asked if I had ever had a stress test. No, so he sent me. A week later I had an angioplasty and, when that didn't do the job, 3 months later I had a quintuple by-pass at age 41..... I'm now 55 and very much alive..... If that doesn't make you believe that there is a God.....

Good Luck and God Bless!

me!

Mornin all... good luck with the test. Going to be 100+ here again today. Looks like a tubing day maybe the campers will be calling it quits and heading home early. We will hit the lake after noon so maybe most of them will be gone. You all stay cool today, if it's raining where you are go out and stand in it, look up and drink it in.

Morning all! Good luck with the test Steve and for all of you in "furnace" like conditions, stay cool and drink plenty of liquids. (Especially the right kind that will replenish H20 and electrolytes!)

Above all, have a most excellent day!!:D

Steve,

I do stress tests as part of my job. Any more, its a really good idea for everyone with any caridac history or anything to get them pretty early, even just as part of a check up. If anything, it will grant you peace of mind that it isnt your heart. What I tell people in your situation is that even if it comes back negative, at least the doctors will have something normal compare future stress tests to to see if anything changed. It will only make the diagnosis down the road more definite. Good luck with the test and bring a magazine....our test usually takes about 3 hours, and the good majority of it is waiting.

A note on the EKG--They only show that somethings wrong if the problem is big enough to create changes in the electrical pathway--which basically means that some of your heart tissue has already died before it will show much.

Good Morning NTOWS

Hotter than a pawnshop pistol here today. Offically hit 100 for the first time yesterday.

Steve, I just did the stress test last month, my fourth one. This one showed all OK except for an elevated blood pressure at top speed. Since my BP is fine at rest there is no real alarm. However, a couple of years ago I was having pain in my left arm and shoulder when I would exert myself. EKG and stress test both showed no problem but it was obvious something was wrong so I went in to the cath-lab for an angiogram. That showed I had a 90% blockage. The doc implanted a stint right then. Best to get it checked out.
