I just spent 3 hours cleaning the interior of my new car and it's finally clean. My dogs decided to track tar all over the inside of my car this weekend. All over the leather seats and carpet. Goo Gone got it all out safely. I even decided to try it on the boat carpet where I decide to track tar all over and it got tar out of the carpet too. What a product!

WD40 is the bomb diggity. (got that saying from my daughter!) I used it to get chewing gum out of the back seat of my car once. After your done with the wd-40 just use a cleaner to get the wd-40 out. It also works good for tar and grease. And I've heard it's a good fish attractant...try that with goo gone! LOL

Go easy on the Goo Gone on your carpet. It has a solvent that can disolve the latex binder and de-laminate your carpet. Probibly OK to squirt it on a rag and dab at the spot but don't saturate the rug.

Teri, I used to use Goo Gone by the gallon. Found something called "Ooops" that seems to work even better! Adhesives/glues, tar, even scuff marks on linoleum floors (which is why I needed all the Goo Gone - @*&# work boots would leave marks on the wife's kitchen floor). Smells better than Goo Gone, and seems to work a tad better/faster.

I use Tryclor but, ya' gotta' watch your skin and just about anything with paint, plastics....;)

Black paint is an excellent spot remover.

If it gets too bad, use gasoline and light up.... after you get out of the hospital, the insurance company will pay for what's left of your boat/truck :(
