Well, Saturday was my first day on the water after installing my new Garmin 160 on the bow of my boat. What a difference. Clarity and detail was tremendous. I believed the information that was being presented to me.
I really didn't get much of a chance to 'play' with it. Just left it in regular mode, other than changing to the fish ID mode with depths. Detail on bottom was much improved over my old Bird. I could see underwater lips, humps, etc. very well.
All in all a very good buy. This winter, I will be replacing the console unit with another Garmin.
Anyone know for sure whether the ducer's for the 160 and 240 are interchangeable? In short, if I have a 160 and 240 both installed, can I swap out the two as wanted/needed from bow to console? I wouldn't do it very often, but there would be times I'd want the better unit on the console.
