Just curious if anyone on the list has installed one of these? You know, the kind with the large spin off filter (looks like an oil filter) and mounts in the bilge area with the fuel hose connecting from the tank to the filter and then to the main engine. I'm debating whether to install one given the lack of anything but E10 around my neck of the woods. Also, hearing bad things about E12 or E15 working its way through the EPA approval process with the biofuels interests pushing this through rulemaking.

Jim, I put one on my boat (50 HP 4 stroke) about 5 years ago :wacko:Work's great although I have not noticed any H2O in it & change the canster every season.

Yep!

I installed one change it every year. I think it is a good precaution not only against the effects of E10, but condensation that naturally occurrs

Jim - Bth Anna Point and High Point Marina sell non-ethanol gas. Put in on the cold side and run up lake to fill up.

Thanks guys. Seems like inexpensive insurance against water in fuel.

Bill - didn't realize the marina's sold non-ethanol. Been filling up while the boats are on trailers because it was cheaper! May have to be on the cold side more often . . .

Definitely a must have Jim. Every boat I've had in the last 20 years have had a spin-on H2O filter installed. Cheap insurance for your powerhead, particularly now. Easy install to boot. Good luck! ;)

i talked to carlos at high point, he was told non ethanol wont be around much longer
