Frigid Champlain is thawing

Well, I didn't have a "Mac" weekend, but I am trying like #&!! to sell my boat so I can buy Buzz's 896 before he sells it to someone else! Anyhow, had to go out yesterday and unwind. Started the day off in my favorite little river with a jig n pig. Did manage 3 nice little LM and missed one hog 4+ lber that chased it to the boat. Anyway, despite 40 degree water, the fish are coming to life. Did finally come south to a little creek I love in the spring and hammered nice smallies for about 2 hours in front of these 4 college kids. It was great. I finally turned them on to the proper baits to be throwing, hint, buzzbaits do NOT work well when the fish's body is barely above freezing temp! LOL But man did it feel good to have a roughed up thumb for a change. Anyone coming this weekend for 'eyes????
