Bob,

For the past year I've been complaining that my 2010 Z7 w/ 150 Opti does not perform like others with the same boat. Best I can I turn is 5250 RPM's with a 23 Tempest. Others with the same motor have got 5700 with a 24 tempest.

Been to my dealer and blah blah blah and nothing wrong.

I go to different Merc mechanic and he puts gages on to check fuel and air pressure. Immediately he goes hmmm. Both air and fuel pressures below minumum, I think by at least 10 psi. He has to order air regulator. Is this likely my low RPM problem? Also checked my hotfoot to see of the TPS and voltages were OK and they were.

Wondering of this will correct my issue?

Could you let me know what the readings were? That motor should have 80psi +/-2 on the air side, and 90psi +/-2 on the fuel side.

-1] Did he also try another set of gauges?

-2] Did they perform a cylinder misfire test? {I personally like this test, and is one of the first recommended....it tells you IMMEDIATELY if there is a non-working cylinder....then a compression, ignition, fuel issue is easily determined.};)

Pretty sure it was 80 on both sides. Did not try a second set of gages. He is still working on and feel confident he'll resolve. Just wondering if the low fuel pressure could have been my low RPM problem.

Be sure to have him perform a vacuum test on the entire system. There should not be more than 2.5" / HG. If there is, look for restrictions, kinks, bends, clogged filters, etc. A quick test is to hook up to a portable tank and re-test. Keep us informed.
