I seem to have a problem with some of the gage's on the boat instrument panel. They seem to have gotten moisture inside them.So depending on what the weather is like they are either foggy-wet or dry. When they are dry however they look dirty on the inside.

Does anyone know a remedy for this? Is there a way to remove and clean them?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks

I had this happen on my old boat, the only solution i know of is to replace it because they are sealed. Mine was the tach and i just lived with it because the replacement was like $150.

Thanks Jim B I was hoping someone would have a miracle cure!lol Because replacement is not an option at those prices.

It seems like it started with one and know it's a couple of them. I wonder if it is something I'm doing?

The gauges in my 180 were like that too, Mark.

I just left them that way.

Mine do that on cool mornings but clear up after awhile. I don't feel that the little bit of information they give are worth spending any money to replace.

I may have to replace my tachometer on my boat. This Saturday, it started acting weird. Has been working fine, and then on Saturday (mid-day), it just wouldn't read at all. Then later, it worked on/off for awhile.

Since I don't really hammer it to the floor, I can pretty much keep up with where the engine is at from listening and watching the speedo. Took the cowling off the engine on Sunday, just to take a look at the overall wiring and such. Looks great. I haven't tried to pull the tach as yet. It may just be a bad connection, or the tach going out.

I'm not going to invest any money in it.I'll just be selling it this fall or next spring anyhow.

I also have a fogged gauge early in the morning and I agree with Harpo. With the high replacement cost, the money can be better spent on something else like gas. Unless you are trying to squeeze every ounce of speed out of your boat and motor.

All of my gauges do that as well. I just deal with it.
