Well its been about 2 weeks now and Im almost finished putting new carpet in my pro17.Its taken alot longer and was twice as expensive than I planned, but I think it will be worth it in the end.Now I have two questions,The first is the floor. The wood is rotted under the seats, will treated plywood last, or should I use the marine grade plywood? The closest place to get marine plywood is about an hour from my house, and its about $60 a sheet. Now where was I?Oh yeah.Second question, the foam under the floor was saturated with water and falling apart,I had seen on a tv show where somebody had gallon cans of expanding foam.Does anybody know where to buy this stuff?I would hate to have to buy 10 or 15 small cans for $6 apiece.I know some of younse guys have redone your boats.Any info will really help.Thanks,me.

Doing all of that work you probably want to use marine grade plywood but I have used pressure treated plywood coated with a couple coats of polyurethane. I used the polyurethane to seal the wood on the top, bottom, and sides to seal out rain water. That combination worked very well for years.

Sorry but I have no help for the foam.

Don't buy the stuff in the cans it will hold water once it starts to break down which may occur after the 1st year and it's affected by gas and oil. Best bet is to go to:

Click on flotation foam. It's a 2 part mix and the best I've used. Not affected by gas or oil.

Thanks for the help guys.I thought about just not using foam, but then I remembered the story about the guy who drown in the tournament that somebody posted awhile back. Its just not worth it to save a few bucks.
