I guess I can't complain too much. It's the first problem she's given me in 3 years and I know it's my own fault for leaving the tank empty for over 2 weeks. But I went through the engine this weekend and still couldn't get her going. I've eliminated all the big stuff and now know that it's a fuel shortage problem. If I spray a little starter fluid in the cylinders, she fires right up for a second, just long enough to burn off the fluid and then dies.

It could be a clogged pick up line, filter, injectors, who knows. But I have a tourney this weekend and don't have time to mess with it, so the old girl goes to the shop this week. Plus I want a new filter put on even if that's not the problem, and a new impeller installed. It's been a few years, and the one I have is pumping fine right NOW, but I don't want it to go when I need it most.

Gotta love boats! LOL But like I said, this old Merc has been a tank and the only reason she's down is because of my own stupidity.:(

No, but I never could before either. Would the cowling have to be off to hear it?
