Does any one here know what it is like to dream of owning a nice boat, then when your 43 years old you can finally afford to, so you start looking and you walk into BPS and see this ass kickin bass boat but it is more than you can spend so you wait another 18 months then you go get it,

$16,000.00 almost as much as my used truck. you get it home and use it for awhile then you find all these things wrong with it and cant seem to find a service center to fix it right, 90 days in the shop in the first year and still needs more work.

My dream has turned into a bad dream and I am stuck with a lemon.

I hope your dreams don't turn out like mine !!

Thanks for lending an ear.

Charlie - So, what's the latest? What has BPS, Tracker and Tracker Corporate told you? What is the dealer doing to help resolve your problems? Sorry your still having problems dude! Tell us the latest? Fill us in!!!

Charlie -

I think it was about a year ago that I wrote a "letter" posted on this board to the Tracker Marine Customer Service Reps trying to explain that a boat was not just a piece of fishing equipment but a Dream.....

If I have time this morning, I'll see if I can go back and find it.

Wasn't so hard to find after all.....

re: Tracker Problems by Scott, 5/19/2001 23:18 CT

Dear Customer Service Reps -

Please make a copy of Tim's letter and post it in your cubicles........ Please take a look between the lines...... What he is expressing is not anger and it really has nothing to do with financial matters or lost time........

Tracker sells something much more valuable than boats...... Tracker sells DREAMS!

Tim spent hour upon hour dreaming, planning and saving for that boat....... First night he got it home he likely sat out in it, closed his eyes and pictured himself bounding across the waves to his favorite honey hole and filling the livewells with fish....... Carefully filled the lockers with all his favorite rods and gear....... He proudly displayed his new toy to his family, neighbors and friends...... Even parked it so it could be more easily seen...... Took pictures of it and showed them to his co-workers!

Then problems started....... Instead of having them taken care of swiftly - they were drawn out. He had to make monthly payments on something he wasn't even able to look at because it was 1,000 miles away being repaired. And it didn't come back "good as new" as he had every good reason to expect.........

Tim had his "Dream" yanked away from him. Tim was HURT. Tim was DISAPPOINTED. And still is..........

Please put yourselves in his shoes........ And, please respond to him in the way that you would want someone else to respond to you............

Charlie...I don't understand it either....one minute you here how good someone gets treated by Tracker(be it the dealer or the factory) and the next someone's really gettin' a raw deal.I still say that Tracker really has no control over some things.

Charlie,

YES--They did the right thing for me but for other boat owners they are not, why not?

I'm with you, I'd be fumming. Apparantley your Dealer isn't doing anything for you. Can you get explicit on the issues you have had and how they were "resolved" by TRACKER. You don't have to many choices---Dealer, TRACKER and finally LAWYER. Keep us informed and we might be able to get somewhere with this but my first inclanation would be "What the hell is your dealer doing for you".

Remember, you don't have to take it to the SELLING dealer. I know there is at least one dealer out by Tyler (granted, it's not close to you), but I don't have any experience with them. For warranty issues, by all means, Tracker needs the call. For other issues, might I suggest (especially since you're in Garland) the Fishing Store (Forest Lane between Plano Road and Jupiter (N of 635)... Bulk oil is pretty well priced there. But, for your rig (non-optimax), Academy or Bass Pro at 8.99/gallon of Quicksilver Premium Plus is probably the best bet. DO NOT SKIMP ON OIL! Quicksilver is made by Mercury. Use Merc/Yam/OMC oil only (that's what the mechanics tell me).

Of course, since you're another Texan, I'd also like to invite you to check out www.texasfishinginfo.com (shameless plug).

charlie, whats new with your boat or dealings with your dealer and or tracker? i seem to remember a smokin motor and an issue with the livewell or support of it. seams to me this winter would have been a great time to get things takin care of before the boat shows and the shops get busy in the summer. If things aren't workin out with the dealer, get tracker involved and don't give up on your dream. (i'm still tryin to figure out how to get my paper sent to me on a consistent basis)

scott (me!) is right about the dream thing especially on a major purchase such as a house, auto, or a boat. fishin times out on the water are special times - even more so when they are bitin!

Charlie:

Sorry to hear about your problems. I have been going through the hoops also.

This is what has happened today.

This morning I received a call from Sandy Hamby, customer service. Basicly it was the same song and dance. All my problems are caused by impact damage and that is the final desision at track. They will not consider anything with my boat because it is not a warranty problem. We went round and round for about 20 minutes. They had said that I should file a claim with my insurance company and I told her that I knew I had not hit anything and I did not want to file. This would be the same as insurance fraud. I am not about to file a false claim.

After that I called tracker and got ahold of Justin Maples.

We also got the warranty manager at my dealer on the phone and the three of us talked. I will say it was a relief totalk to someone that was willing to listen. My dealer told him that they did not believe this was impact damage.

As we talked Justin said that it sounded like this problem may have been there from the start. He said he was going to talk to my dealer and do some checking and would get back to me by the end of the week. At this point things are sounding better and we will see what happens next.

Let me know what goes on with your boat.

bob, hopefully that is good news for you and things can get going in the right direction. it is good your dealer is tryin to do the right thing also. i think when tracker actually takes the time and sees it without the blinders on, that they will take care of it. hopefully real soon.

Maybe someone at the factory dropped the boat as they were lowering it onto the trailer.....

now that would be damage caused by impact...... might also explain that cracked stringer brace or whatever.
