For those that have the type of trailer that lock out the brakes when the tow vehicle is put into reverse. Can you hear a click (activation) of the solenoid or is it silent, when power (tow vehicle in reverse) is applied.

Make sure tow vehicle is off and in park with parking brake on. (Chock wheels if more comfortable.) Turn ignition to run, but not start. Slide gear selector into reverse. You should be dead in the drive with the reverse lights on now. Go back to trailer and plug the five wire tow plug into the trailer plug, or plug the blue reverse wire into the matching blue trailer wire for the backup solenoid. Doing this at the trailer connection you should hear a click for the solenoid release. Good luck! ;)

Thanks to all that replied. I found a broken solenoid wire inside the actuator (Trailer tongue). After repair of wire, I can hear solenoid energizing/ clicking when 12v is applied (blue wire tow vehicle in reverse)
