Has anyone ever considered adding a rheostat to their dash lights for night time fishing? This thought struck me late last season and seems to be a good idea just short of removing the bulbs. Where can I get a rheostat, and does anyone have a wiring diagram?

Charles,

Radio Shack will probally have a 12 volt rheostat that you can use. Pretty good idea now that you mention it. My lights are bright and are either on or off. If my boat was inside the garage I would probally even try installing on this winter.

PS You are up late!!!

I added a 12 volt rheostat from Radio Shack to my 02 896 last year works great. Now i cam see at night without being blinded.

NItro thought of it.....The 9 Series Nitro boats have a dimmer switch....(at least they used to)

Looks like you were up later than I was Carlos! I'll swing by Radio Shack and see what they have. Too bad I don't have a garage neither.

Yup, my 2001 929 came with a dimmer, its nice to have.
