Is the tongue on the 896 a swing away? It occurred to me while working on mine in my father-in-law's shop that with my motor trimmed down, I have about 3" of clearance for the tongue to be able to close the door. I like working in the shop with heat, and lights and tools. I can use the barn but it takes a LOT longer to warm up with a salalmander and then I have to keep trekking across to the shop to get tools each time. Anyway, you'll see this weekend. I hope it does have a swing tongue. Even if it does, it's probably still too long to fit in there. Guess I need to build my own garage finally! LOL BTW, the Saranac river mouth is open. When you come over this weekend we can fire up the TF on the muffs, then if your nephew wants we can tow it down to the river and run it, weather permitting. Tell him to dress warm! LOL Who knows, maybe we can wet a line!!!!! LOL

Rob,

Buzz's trailer is a swing-away. Buzz didn't have the key and the pin was rusted in the hole. Last summer I cut off the lock and got it to swing again and put another lock on it. I was able to squeeze the boat in a 24' garage.

Probably had to do it at an angle right? I can't in our shop because there are log stantions that support the roof and there is only enough room between them to fit a car/truck straight in. A boat is a very tight fit. I'll manage. He does have a nice 2 bay garage on the house, if I can just convince him to use as one! LOL
