Bruce and Uncle Billy:



I recall us talking about getting together in Mattawoman this coming Saturday 7/22 (and/or next - 7/29). You guys still interested? I'm game, but I can only get out for about half the day (until 2pm) before I have to hightail it back home for an evening business event. Uncle Billy, the invite still stands for you to come out on my PT175. We won't set any speed records, but I know a few spots where the bass were. I say "were" because I haven't quite got the high summer pattern down! I was killing 'em in late June and early July, but with the water a lot hotter, I have to refigure out the patterns. Of course, the murky water from all the rains could have something to do with it, but I'm not laying out any excuses in advance!



So let me know if you guys are still interested (and anyone else who wants to hook up - Bill in VA? Pending rib/ankle healing!). I'll be launching out of Smallwood early since Slavin's is still under construction.

 
I can't make it this Saturday Jim but thanks for the offer. I have a "Sweet 16" birthday party to attend.:) The 29th may be ok, I'll have to check. You don't have to talk to me about speed records Jim, mine is the same.. It's a brave man who launches out of Smallwood on a Saturday.:eek: I know most people work so can't, but I much prefer the week-day.

I've never let murky water bother me Jim. If I was on a semi clear lake I'd look for murky water to fish. Anyway, I'll check on next Saturday and see.

Ken - :lol::lol::lol: on the tax dollars. So that explains my county tax increases!!! Well worth it for you guys (IMHO). Bummer you can't join.



I think the consensus at this point is for everyone to shoot for the 29th. Let's go with that and see who can join.
 
OK, I think I'm about 80% sure of the 29th. I don't think I have any engagements, I've been feeling pretty good, and the wife wants me to do something, anything:D I think Toxic will be back. How about CIII? I've got to backseat with someone if there's room.

I'd suggest early for the topwater bite. Say meeting at 5:30am at Smallwood?



Uncle Billy - I was planning to ride with Bruce F. to kind of show him around, but if we don't get others joining, I'll bring my rig and you can back seat with me. I can still show Bruce around the creek, he'll just have to stay behind us!! :D



BTW - For the VA crew, you probably already knew this, but Virginia freshwater licenses are good on Mattawoman all the way up past where the boats can't go (thanks MD for the reciprocity!). No need for a separate MD Tidal license.
 
Well, let's see what happens Jim. Bruce has a tournament coming up so I don't want to take up a place he could really use to practice. I have a boat and I can bring that and I just might know someone who wants to fish with us. Like I said, let's see what happens. We may hear from Tox or Carlos or who knows.

OK, here is the deal. Yes I want to see everything I can. But as far as the tournament goes, I am the co-angler / non-boater and have to fish where ever I end up. I am looking for what gets bit more than where. The 31st is the last day I am allowed on the Potomac. By running my boat I hope to cover a lot of water to see as much as possible. Uncle Billy if you get a pass from the boss don't worry about me. Lets see how the boat count works out. I may be a redneck but I am sharp as a marble.........
